Charles James Adams (1859-1932) trained as a draughtsman and lithographer and worked in Leicester also attending the School of Art there. He worked in both oil and watercolour, painting peaceful landscapes, sleepy village life and farming activity. Adams exhibited at the Royal Academy and at other London galleries from 1886 onwards.
